"Would you like some orange juice, Dominique? A donut?" my mother asked.

"Juice please," she said with a smile for my mother.

I gave a tentative smile which Dominique returned to my surprise. She had been cold and distant for weeks, ever since the fight with Hector. During detention, which I still didn't know why she came to detention, she barely spoke to me. She just read, took notes, worked on her paper, and seemed to watch the rest of us like a hawk.

I didn't understand why. We had been friends for years now and I had no idea what I had done wrong. Unless it was that kiss a few weeks ago. Perhaps I had kissed her badly. Maybe she didn't want me to kiss her. I didn't have feelings for her like I did for Ana, or even Olivia.
